While I was out walking
Yesterday, while I was out walking, I passed a CVS store. I noticed a group of people standing around with their phones, taking photographs. There was a mild commotion—not loud, but filled with conversations that hinted at excitement. Curious, I changed my course to see what was happening.
To my surprise, I discovered that a hawk was sitting on the pavement in front of the CVS, unable to fly. Despite the number of onlookers, the bird seemed undisturbed by the crowd, as everyone was careful to keep a respectful distance to avoid startling it. I learned that someone had already contacted Animal Control, which was on its way.
The atmosphere was filled with anticipation and excitement. Although I had seen hawks before, I had never had the chance to observe one up close. The hawk appeared to be a juvenile, not fully matured. We all wondered how it had ended up on the CVS pavement, but it was a thrilling experience for everyone to witness it up close.
Eventually, Animal Control arrived and took the hawk away.
